Physical Quantities
Quantities which can measured precisely are known as Physical quantity.
Ex. Mass, Length, Time, Work and Force etc.
There are two kinds of Physical Quantities
- Fundamental Quantities
- Derived Quantities
Fundamental Quantities
Which quantities are independent of other quantities are called fundamental quantities. There are seven F.Q.
Ex. Mass, Length, Time, Temperature, Electric Current, Amount of substances and Luminous intensity
Derived Quantities
Quantities which can derived with help of fundamental quantities are called derived quantities.
Ex. Work, Force, Area, Volume, and Density etc.

Units for Measurement
The reference value of measurement for the given quantities are called the unit of measurement.
There are two kinds of Units
- Fundamental Units
- Derived Units
Fundamental Units
Which units are independent of other units are called fundamental Units. There are seven F.U.
Derived Units
Units which can derived with help of fundamental units are called derived units.
